Diary Entry 01/2002

Whoaaaaa it's almost been a year since I've been back. The
Desperado matches are starting up this month and we'll be battling it out with  Arizona for the big trophy. All comers are welcome to fight with either side. Of course California will take the trophy home for the 3rd time in a row.... I'm sure.

The reason I've been gone so long is because I've been hav'en my run ins with the US marshals. After the Ingalls battle, we were all sitt'en in a small saloon, down by the Cimarron, when a couple of riders rode up and a tall man walked in. Tilghman and I not knowing what each other looks like, there was a short conversation, and the man seeming a bit nervous turned and walked out. Redbuck pulled his pistol and was about to shoot the man in the back, and I had to draw my pistol to stop him. If Tilgman and I are gonna shoot it out, it's gonna be a  fair one. After that the gang split up to lay low for awhile. I went down to New Mexico where I met Eugene Rhodes. He is a big ranch owner and hired me to work it for him. However he did not know I was an outlaw. Our meeting was quite exciting as I was riding into town and they were bucking out some new horses. Mr. Rhodes was riding a quite ambitious stallion and his saddle slipped to the side throwing him to the ground. His foot was caught in the stirrup. People just stared as the horse was about to trample him to death. I quickly pulled my rifle and killed the animal, saving his life. After that I don't think he cared about my past. After helping out at the ranch for awhile I headed up to Arkansas to the mineral baths as the bullet that is still lodged in my back gives me much pain and this helps relieve it.

So now that I'm back in Calofornia. I'll keep ya informed of the Desperado's and a quick story of my past adventures.

If you know of anthing of interest to our gang, just contact me at doolin@family-network.net

Now go clean your guns............
